A new genre called "ComTra"...!

There is a new genre being created. We have had Comedy, Tragedy, Romance, Sex, Action, Sci-Fi, Horror, Drama etc. Then we had Rom-Coms, where art was an ensemble mix of Romance and Comedy. Rom-Com movies were a good change, from the typical romantic movies, that were rich in gloss and fantasies. Likewise there were several combinations being made, but any 2 genres that were combined were quite related to each other.

But ever heard of 2 genres, completely opposite, being combined? These days a new combo has arrived. The combo has a mixture of Comedy and Tragedy. Sounds really strange, right?

But I have felt this genre to be the best of all. It is here, where you learn to take tragedy with a sense of humour.
There is an age old song:

Uthe sab ke kadam,
Tararumpum,
Kabhi aise geet gaaya karo,
Kabhi khushi Kabhi ghum,
Tararumpum,
Haso aur hasaya karo!

Life is an ensemble mix of Tragedy and Comedy. We have good times, we have bad times. During bad times, we have our good times to support us. During our good times, our bad times keep us grounded, and prevent us from being carried away.

Thus the new combo, what to call it? Trag-Com, Com-Trag or say TraCom or ComTra?

I prefer ComTra. These days new age songs have come with cheeky lyrics (almost all composed by Amitabh Bhattacharya). His first hit was the 'Emosanal Attayachar'

'Tauba tera Jalwa, Tauba tera Pyaar, Tera Emosanal Attayachar'

Sounds comic, isn't it? But it depicts Tragedy as well.

Now we still have a week to go. Delhi Belly going to release. Shit Happens!

The DK Bose song has been playing in my head ever since I first heard it.

"Piddi jaisa chuha, duum pakra toh nikla kaala Naag"

These words teach us not to have high expectations from life. I'm eagerly waiting for 1st July. Delhi Belly is surely be a classic example of ComTra. :)

Shit Happens!!! :D
